At the Autumn/Winter 2026–27 Haute Couture season, Elie Saab stepped beyond conventional evening glamour and into a world shaped by illusion, transformation and fantasy.
Titled “The Ball of Untamed Dreams,” the collection imagines couture through the atmosphere of a mysterious masquerade, where masked figures move between shadow and light and familiar forms appear transformed. Inspired by the visual language of Surrealism, the collection explores the space between reality and imagination.

Presented during Paris Haute Couture Week on July 8, 2026, the collection continues Elie Saab’s relationship with elaborate eveningwear while introducing a more theatrical and dreamlike dimension.
COUTURE AS A WORLD OF ILLUSION

Rather than treating the gown simply as an object of beauty, Elie Saab uses the collection to construct an entire visual world.
Sheer organza scattered with pearls recalls the floating quality of a painted cloud, while a dramatic magenta silk silhouette evokes the surreal imagery of a rose suspended in an impossible landscape. Draped and sculpted fabrics take on organic forms, suggesting flowers, birds and shifting skies.

The effect is deliberately fluid. Colour and texture appear to change with movement, with lilac shifting towards silver and deeper shades transforming into softer tones. The garments therefore become part of the spectacle themselves, responding to light, movement and the atmosphere around them.
THE ART OF TRANSFORMATION

Yet this season, romance is presented through a darker and more theatrical lens. Black, deep burgundy and midnight-inspired tones introduce a sense of mystery, while luminous neutrals, metallic surfaces and jewel-like shades create moments of contrast. Velvet, silk, organza, embroidery and embellishment contribute to a visual language that feels rich without relying on a single aesthetic direction.
The result is a collection where beauty is not entirely predictable. A gown can resemble a flower, a wing, a cloud or an imagined landscape depending on how it moves and how it is seen.

The final bridal silhouette brings together champagne tones, crystal embellishment, light gold and sculptural construction, creating a luminous conclusion to the darker mystery of the masquerade. It feels less like a traditional ending than the final scene of a dream—an image that gradually disappears once the lights go down.
